Tired…

July 2, 2005

My wife went out last night for Canada Day with thre3. My kids are both sick with a stomach flu so I got to stay home with them. Kieren was mostly ok, but Kaeli was up all night screaming. I ended up catching about an hour and half of sleep.

Julie came home this morning at about 10am and wanted to go to sleep. She spent the day in bed, and got up at 4. I’m pretty wiped now but it’s not worth going for a nap anymore…

This is a pretty typical picture of my son. I wonder some times if something magical happens to a kid when they turn four that turns them from that sweet kid you remember into the devious evil genious…

Guess who’s back… Back Again?

October 3, 2004

I made it back from {VA} on Friday night. Just in time for Kierens birthday party on Saturday. The kid got spoiled as usual. My TODO list is growing. I’ve got to take care of some corporate setup issues tomorrow morning and get my copy of quickbooks up and running so I can start invoicing.

Yay.

I Hate Automake….

August 21, 2000

Hacking

Spent part of my morning trying to figure out a stupid problem with automake that was caused by a space in AM_INIT_AUTOMAKE. I still don’t understand exactly how it manifested itself in a completely unrelated area but thats ok… I’ve got my work cut out for me trying to squash a number of bugs and put in a few tweaaks before I do the beta 3 rpms.

Not much hacking got done today unfortunately.

Training
I’m training my replacement AE to transition into my old job. He’s a smart guy who I’ve had the pleasure of dealing with before. I’m pretty sure he’ll enjoy the job as much as I have in the past which is very cool. At least I can feel good about having a qualified replacement.

Personal
Jules is on the verge of popping. We’re constantly trying to figure out if shes going into labour. I guess that means it will happen soon which is pretty damned exciting. I can’t wait to be a dad!

Long Time No See…

August 20, 2000

Hrm… I’m obviously not the best at keeping this up to date. I’ll have to try and change that in the future. So, what’s new and exciting, lemme think…

I’ve transferred into engineering which means I’ll be working full time on VACM… This is supercool as its starting to get more and more feature rich and usable.

I’ll be spending part of my time for the next couple of weeks transitioning in my AE replacement, but after that I’ll have no excuse for not actively banging out code.

I just got back from LWE which was strange but interesting none the less. Its odd to see a Linux show this hyped up. I sometimes miss the days when these things were more community oriented and less corporate but I guess that’s bound to happen.

On a personal note, Jules is in her last few weeks of labour which means that zacs 2.0 will be running around the house soon enough. Still don’t know if its a boy or a girl. I’m not too worried either way either. I just hope he or she is healthy at this point.
