The fine folks at Mercer Consulting have brought us this tripe. It seemed like such a simple premise, they really didn’t even have to do research for it… I mean, who’s going to put up with crappy voice quality just because it affords them new features like mobility… Wait, what’s that you’re saying Zac… A cellphone in every pocket? Blasphemy.

From the dawn of the cellular phone until a few years ago, it was a tool used for business. The high rates ensured that this tool was used by people on the go who had a specific need. In similar fashion, people are not buying into VoIP because it’s cool. They are buying into the applications and capabilities it affords them.
